Cheesefall

A story of two mice wandering the desert.

OVerview

My partner and I, over the course of two weeks, created a short animation about two mice lost in the desert, who must overcome their differences and share their resources in order to survive. For this animation, we worked on everything together, creating all but the pieces from the Mouse Trap game and the mice rigs.

Development

We developed a storyboard, animatic, and motionmatic to help us during the creation process. Once all of our assets were created, it came down to finishing animations and working on lighting and rendering. We utilized blend shapes for the bodies and facial expressions of the mice, sun and sky in Maya for lighting, and made several iterations of the desert terrain, cheese meteor, and plastic shelter before feeling satisfied with the layout of the environment.
